Forestry Fall Field School was success again this year! 18 first year Forestry students got the opportunity to spend a week out in the bush around Hinton and Whitecourt learning about everything forestry ranging from tree identification to harvesting operations to fire detection and silviculture to increase forest productivity. A highlight of the week for me was the tree planting where every student got the opportunity to plant a bunch of white spruce trees in a recently harvested area. We’ve got another great crop of forestry students at the U of A!
