Big congratulations to Jenn Buss who successfully defended her MSc on January 17, 2020. Jenn studied seedbanks and nutrients in reclamation soil stockpiles and mature forests. The seedbank work in particular involved a lot of field work to collect the soil samples and then 4 months of greenhouse work to grow out the resulting seedlings. The first part of this research has been submitted to a journal for publication and the second part will be soon. Stayed tuned for more details. It has been great having Jenn in the lab! She has now moved on to work at the Canadian Forest Service in Edmonton.
